In The Neighborhood

Bowery Ballroom

The Bowery Ballroom has always been a staple of the Lower East Side-- located at 6 Delancey Street, it has all the trappings of a classic music venue: great sound system, large capacity and a commendable balance between headliners and new, adventurous artists. This week, popular Australian band The Temper Trap plays on Tuesday while throaty Reignwolf takes the stage on Friday.

For those that have already been to the music venue, other highlights of the week include a rerun of Annie Hall, Woody Allen's self-deprecating classic about love and New York City at the MOMA, the Jeff Koons exhibit at the Whitney Museum showcasing the artist's famous life-sized balloon animal sculptures and a talk about sustainable eating habits and the modern food industry with Paul Greenberg and Karl Weber, the authors of American Catch and Food Inc. respectively.

Looking forward to the weekend already? 7 miles of Manhattan blocks will be turned into a pedestrian walkaway for Summer Streets on Saturday. Start downtown, meander your way up Manhattan to the Upper East Side then perhaps enjoy a night of Jazz in July, Bill Charplan's annual showcase of classics and experimental modern pieces.
